The Indian Premier
League (IPL) 2023 is scheduled to take place between March 31, 2023, and May
28, 2023. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added two new
teams ahead of the 2022 edition, bringing the total number of teams to ten for

IPL 2023 Schedule revealed
The opening match of the 2023 IPL will be
held on March 31st in Ahmedabad, featuring defending champions Gujarat Titans
against Chennai Super Kings. The tournament will come to a close on May 28,
with the final match scheduled for that day. During the season, there will be
18 doubleheaders, and the home-and-away format will be reinstated, with each
team playing seven home matches and seven away matches. The last league match
of the season is set for May 21.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, also
referred to as IPL 16, marks the sixteenth edition of the T20 cricket league
established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Tata Group
has secured the title sponsorship for the 2022 and 2023 IPL seasons. Due to

announce the details of IPL groups by January 23. In the previous IPL season,

IPL 2023 Auction
According to recent announcements by the
BCCI, there will be no mega-auction for IPL 2023. However, teams will still
have the option to trade and release players from their squads in the
mini-auction. The teams will be able to add players to their squads based on
their remaining purse value, which is set to increase by Rs 5 crore this year.
The IPL 2023 player auction is scheduled to take place on December 23 in Kochi.

IPL 2023 Format
The format for IPL 2023 is set to follow
the same structure as that of IPL 2012. The participating teams will be divided
into two groups - Group A and Group B. For instance, if Chennai Super Kings
(CSK) is placed in Group A, they will play two matches against teams in the
same group, and one match against teams in Group B. In addition, CSK will play
an extra match against a randomly selected team from Group B. This format will
ensure that each team plays a total of 14 league matches in the tournament.
